Indigo

Before arriving at the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada (DSC) Indigo, five donkey friends and one mule friend, lived on a farm in Southern Ontario. It was a very loving home. When the owner had to downsize their farm due to their own health, they contacted the DSC to inquire if we could take on the group of seven. They all arrived in the summer of 2024.

Indigo has settled nicely here at the Sanctuary Farm. He is currently living with our Miniature donkey group and is slowly making friends.

Indigo is one of the few donkeys we have that have the genetic “no light points” factor, which means that all his extremities and all points around nose and eyes are black.

He is a very curious and bold donkey.
