Beans

Beans and his friend, Burrito, lived on a farm in western Quebec. Both were well-loved pets and when circumstances in the owner’s life changed and she was no longer able to look after the two donkeys, she contacted the DSC. We were able to provide Beans and Burrito with a lifelong home. The two friends arrived in 2017.

In 2022 Beans developed a lower respiratory infection that developed into clinical signs of pneumonia and he required medical treatment from the OVC Large Animal Clinic. His advanced age along with his susceptibility to respiratory infections means that the Sanctuary will be his permanent residence, of course alongside Burrito.

Beans is a very sweet and curious donkey.
