Jennet (female donkey)

Polly originally lived on a farm in Southwestern Ontario which became the first Host Farm for the DSC when they were looking for another donkey to keep Polly company. After a few years of being the first Host Farm, that farm was sold and they requested that their host farm donkey be returned to the DSC. They also wanted us to admit their donkey—Polly—into our care.

Polly was admitted to the DSC in 2009 and she and her companion were immediately moved to another DSC Host Farm.

Polly lived a good life at the Host Farm, where she was soon joined by three more Sanctuary donkeys. Polly’s close companion passed away in 2015.

And once life circumstances changed at the Host Farm they requested that all donkeys return to the DSC. Polly became an official resident of the DSC farm in April 2022. She has settled in well.
