Peanut, born in 1992, is a small, grey dun Standard donkey. Before being admitted to The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada (DSC) in 2013, Peanut lived for seven years with a loving family in northern Ontario. When his former owners were required to move, they wanted the best for him and arranged for the DSC to provide their precious Peanut with a good forever home.
We don’t know too much about Peanut’s life before his last family. They were told he had been used for donkey rides.
Peanut spent a few years on one of our amazing Foster Farms, where he was a companion to another DSC donkey, named Doo Dandy. When life circumstances changed for the family, Peanut and Doo Dandy returned home to the DSC Sanctuary Farm in February of 2019.
Peanut has adjusted well to being back at the DSC and living with other donkeys. He perks up his ears at the sound of braying and is quite content to graze with his miniature donkey friends in their paddock.
He is a calm, quiet-spirited donkey.
