DSC Winter Closure Notice
As the temperatures drop and the seasons change, the DSC will be closed to visitors for the winter months.
Every year, from the first Sunday in May to the last Sunday in October, the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada is open to the public. Visitors come from all over the world to visit with these gentle equines—and we look forward to seeing you, as well.
Please note that Concession 4, Maltby Rd. and County Rd. 34 are all closed at Hwy. 6 due to recent road changes. The new interchange is now open, but we understand that it might be confusing for first-time visitors. To make your journey easier, here’s the best route:
➡️ If you’re using Hwy 6, exit at the new interchange and head west.
➡️ Continue down to County Rd 34 and head west.
➡️ Turn right onto 20 Side Rd to reach Concession 4 and turn left on Concession 4 to reach the DSC.
May to October. Information and FAQ here.
Each year, we offer special open days to seniors and during the holiday season. These days change from year to year. Information and FAQ here.
On Mondays and Fridays throughout our open season, we offer group tours to interested parties. Information and FAQ here.
The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada is located at 6981 Conc. 4, Puslinch ON
The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada is a not-for-profit licensed charity. Our mission is to provide a lifelong home to donkeys, mules and hinnies that are unwanted, neglected or abused and we promote the responsible stewardship of all animals through humane education. We envision a world in which the dignity and worth of all creatures are recognized and respected.
